Prenatal Yoga program

During pregnancy your body goes through many changes, which creates stress on you mentally and physically. A way to maintain a healthy mind and body is prenatal yoga. Prenatal yoga focuses on poses for pregnant women, in order to increase strength and flexibility.

Much like other types of childbirth-preparation classes, prenatal yoga is a multifaceted approach to exercise that encourages stretching, mental centring and focused breathing. Research suggests that prenatal yoga is safe and can have many benefits for pregnant women and their babies.

This program is designed to support mothers to be on their individual pregnancy journeys, from conception all the way to birth. The yoga sessions are broken down based on the trimester. A typical prenatal class will involve breathing practices, gentle stretching, moving the body in different positions to build strength, relaxation of muscles etc,

Prenatal yoga can improve sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth, decrease lower back pain, nausea, headache and shortness of breath.

Incase you are new to yoga, the second trimester is a good place to start rather than pushing to the third trimester.

We recommend you get a clearance from your doctor before you practice these sessions.
